Hemingway in Paris Tour
Approximately 3 hours
65 euros for up to 4 persons
A Private Tour For Your Party Only

Ernest Miller Hemingway lived in Paris from 1921-1928.

The Hemingway in Paris Tour takes you to the hotel where he and his wife Hadley spent their first night in Paris, to their first apartment together and on to their separate apartments when their marriage had come to an end.

We will also pass by the hotel where Hemingway and Pauline Pfeiffer carried on their adulterous affair, before they married.

Our tour explores the neighborhoods, visitng many of the same cafs and restaurants that Hemingway frequented. The names may have changed over the years, but, the buildings and streets and often, even the interiors remain the same.

We will discover the residences of Gertrude Stein and Alice B. Toklas and Ezra Pound and take a small detour to visit the house of Oscar Wilde, if you wish.

A stroll through the Garden of the Luxembourg is a must-do including a visit to the Museum of the Luxembourg, where Hemingway gazed at the works of Cezanne and others.

The original location of Shakespeare and Co., as well as it's present location is part of the tour as well as the "bouquiniste" book stalls along the banks of the Seine river.

A highlight of the tour is finding the studio of Pablo Picasso where these two great artists met and where Picasso painted his masterpiece "Guernica".

And, of course, Boulevard Montparnasse, with such Hemingway locales as La Closerie des Lilas, Le Dme, Le Select, La Coupole and the Dingo Bar (now under a different name) where Hemingway first met F. Scott Fitzgerald.

From here, we can take the Metro across town for a visit to Harry's Bar and then a few steps over to the Ritz Carlton Hotel on the Place Vendome.

Along the way, the Hemingway in Paris Tour will take you to the Panthon, the church of St. Etienne du Mont, the Notre Dame, the church of St. Sulpice and the ancient church of St. Geramin des Prs, the Sorbonne University, Place St. Michel and the Palais du Luxembourg.

The Hemingway in Paris Tour is an exceptional walking tour.

It cannot be recommended highly enough for fans of Hemingway and those interested in the Lost Generation and the literary greatness of ex-patriots in Paris during the 1920s.

It will be our pleasure to show you our Hemingway in Paris Tour and introduce you to this important period of Paris history, still alive.
