Map of the Area

The Salvador Dali Museum, Espace Montmartre, is located on the top of the hill Montmartre. From Metro station Anvers, walk up hill along the rue de Steinkerque to Square Willette. To the left of the Square is a funicular station. For the cost of one Metro ticket, this tram will take you to the top of the hill.

Take the funicular, or hike up the stairs to the Basilica Sacre Coeur. It's a great walk through gardens and pathways of Square Willette. The area is usually brimming with a variety of people who are enjoying the views, each other and the many street entertainers that work the area.

You do have to run the gauntlet of "independent businessmen" hawking their fine selection of post cards, miniature Eiffel Towers and squishy toys.

Turn left when you reach the top and make your way to the Place du Tertre. This colorful spot is alive with quick-character sketch artists, landscape artists and restaurants.

Keep left through the Place du Terte and you'll find yourself on rue Poulbot and soon in front of the Dali Museum.

Within is a superb collection of Dali's works.
