Beginning on the Ile de la Cite, our Latin Quarter Tour takes us through some of the most picturesque areas of Paris, the streets where the Universities of Paris began, up Montagne Sainte Genevieve, amongst the walls and ruins of Roman and Medieval Paris.
We visit the vestiges of the Tower of Clovis, the stunning stone work of the church of Saint Etienne du Mont and the grandeur of the Panthéon.
Our route winds down ancient streets to the gladitorial Arena of Lutece.
We wander the gardens of theMuseum of the Middle Ages which houses remnants of the Roman baths and the priceless Unicorn Tapestries.
This is still the center of Paris Universities, even if the Sorbone University was scattered across the City after the May 1968 student riots. At Place Saint Michel, a favorite student meeting place, you will find a wide selection of restaurants and shops and grand views of the Cathedral of Notre Dame.
This is a great historical walk through the heart of ancient Paris.
